Dance Discovery

Katelyn Oakley

Katelyn started dancing at Dance Discovery in 2006 and, since 2014, has been an assistant teacher working with children aged between 3 and 10 in all different genres of dance. She has also been a member of the Dance Discovery performance team since the age of 9, competing in various competitions across the state.

Since 2019 Katelyn has been the Acrobatics teacher with both module 1 and module 2 Acrobatic Arts certifications. Teaching a range of ages from 2 through to 18 in all styles of dance.

Having completed her Royal Academy of Dance Ballet examinations and Australian Teachers Of Dancing examinations in Ballet, Tap, and Jazz, Katelyn has had the opportunity to perform in the A.T.O.D Victorian State and interstate Australasian Scholarships. Katelyn's highest achievements in her career have been winning the A.T.O.D 2016 Australasian Intermediate Ballet Scholarship and the 2018 Victorian Senior Jazz Scholarship. Throughout Katelyn's commitment to Dance Discovery, she has been awarded the 2011 Dance Discovery Perpetual Award and the 2016 Student of the Year Award at Dance Discovery.

Katelyn has also completed her VCE VET Certificate II in dance, while currently studying VCE Dance Units 3 and 4. Katelyn has also gained her certification to be an acrobatics teacher under the Acrobatic Arts syllabus, allowing her to safely and correctly teach dancers acrobatics.
